Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday, a joyous service remembering Jesus' triumphant entrance into Jerusalem. Join us with Hosannas and palm branches as we welcome the King of Kings.
and refers to the command that Jesus gave to his disciples at the Last supper, to "Love one another as He has loved us". So Maundy Thursday is when we celebrate Jesus' gift of the Lord's supper.
Maunday Thursday Worship - Song of the Shadows
April 1, 7pm
Be guests of the Lord at the Lord’s Supper on Thursday, April 1st at 7:00pm. The chancel choir will sing portions of the beautiful cantata “Song of the Shadows.” Come on Good Friday for the rest of the cantata and to hear the seven last words of Christ.
Good Friday Worship - Tenebrae
April 2, 12pm or 7pm
On Good Friday, the church gathers for the Service of “Tenebrae,” which means “shadows” or “darkness.” Tenebrae is a service which commemorates Christ’s Passion with a reading of the seven last words.
The bare altar emphasizes the starkness of the events recalled. Its most significant feature is the gradual extinguishing of the candles on the altar. The increasing darkness represents the denial of the disciples; the resentment of the world; and the final isolation and death of Jesus on the cross.
Easter Sunday Worship - Holy Communion
April 4, 8:15am or 10:30am
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
On Easter Sunday we celebrate the very core of our faith and the source of our hope and joy ... Jesus resurrection from the dead and his promise of a new life with him.
Join us to celebrate with flowers, music, Holy Communion, family and friends at either our 8:15 or 10:30 Services.
